4- Lukas Ridgeston and Ion Davidov (Lucky Lukas, 1999)
In my opinion, it would seem Lucky Lukas was Bel Ami’s least appreciated film and for the life of me I could never figure out why. It was the perfect film to have Lukas and Ion ‘ham it up’, and Ion’s sense of humor has always made any scene he was in a pure delight. This scene ended up on many fans’ lists and it really shouldn’t be hard to see why. It’s fun, sexy and hot. Really…what more could you ask for?
This scene I had edited a while back and actually had shelved it not knowing really, what to do with it. For one, it was more or less, a stand-alone, meaning it just didn’t fit, theme-wise, into any current project I was working on at the time. And the other reason was that, I had a bitch of a time putting any music to it. Nothing I tried seemed to really fit the scene’s fun nature. Until I started listening to one of my favorite bands again, Marillion. The song, Hard As Love taken from their concept album, Brave seemed to be a nice fit. I ‘scored’ another edit using another song of theirs but as of yet, I haven’t decided to release it, thinking that it was far too personal. But for this clip, Marillion shines here. I hope my selection is a winner with all of you as well. You’ll have to know how I did.
